Brand new to this world. I picked up a set of Genesis Media Labs G-2860's at a yard sale a few days ago. After doing some digging I'm pretty sure these things are a classic example of the "white van scam" speakers. Given what I paid for the set (40 bucks) I'm not to upset about that, if they work at all I'll be happy w/ the purchase. What I'm more concerned about is actually setting these things up. The label on the back says impedance is 8ohms, but when I test the resistance w/ multimeter I get a reading of about 3ohms. From my research it's my understanding that the reading on a multimeter should be about 80% of the stated reading, so I don't want to hook these up and blow them out the gate....any advice?
