Hi All,

New to the forum here and fairly new to high end hi-fi.

I am looking to get a turntable and phono stage.

My system currently contains the following components:

Cyrus Pre xPD Pre Amp
2x Cyrus 8 Power Amps
Triangle Altea Arpege Limited Edition Speakers
QED Silver Anniversary Bi-Wire speaker cable.

I am not convinced yet that the Triangles are the correct match for the system, but if I decide to change them later, they won't go to waste - they are a great speaker. I managed to pick up all the gear at great prices from their original owners - even have the boxes for the Cyrus gear!

I am pretty convinced of the Vincent Pho-8 for the phono stage and it comes highly recommended by all the hi-fi dealers.

Now this leaves the turn tables.. I really want a Rega P3 - but it is going to cost me and I am new to Vinyl (except when I was a kid).

But I have also been looking at a Thorens TD-240 as a mate has one and swears by automatic - I know this will shock some people. But it kind of seems very convenient..

I also have the opportunity to get a Thorens TD160 Super that has been refurbished, but at $925, it does not sit well with me for such and old machine.

I listen to all types of music - Adele, all the way to Rammstein - I love electronic music too, so I need a good all rounder.

I am open to suggestions if you think there is something better..

I did want to try and keep to to around $1500 (AUD) and I know this puts the P3 slightly out of reach - but I could just wait.

Any help is appreciated.
