Hello Everyone,
Nice place you have here, this is my first post. I started reading Stereophile when Stereo Review changed to Sound and Vision.

I have around 500 LPs but never play them.
Whenever I play my turntable even at low levels the drivers on my floorstanding Proac speakers move in and out violently.
This can't be good for them. This does not happen at all with the cd player even at loud levels.

My BillyBags rack is located behind the speakers in the corner of the room. The turntable is Technics SL-Q2.(Direct drive with cheap non removable red and white RCA jacks.) I'm guessing it sold for around $300.00 in 1980.It has a Grado Platinum cartridge.

Older Krell amps and pre amp with an internal phono board, MIT cables and a Cary cd round out the system.

Over the last few years I've been lusting over the Music Hall MMF-7 but have put off purchasing it in favor of trying to enjoy the Technics.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
