I'm thinking of remodifying the lamp-wire-like output cable of my turntable (Thorens TD160) by terminating it at the plinth (base) of the turntable with a pair of female RCA jacks so that I can then use, or change whenever desired, interconnect cables to the pre-amp. Is this going to work? Will it affect performance? Is there any particular type of cables I should avoid so as not to further reduce the already low output of phono signal? Would appreciate any advices.
