All:

Now that I have a $2,000 dac sitting around with dated USB, I have done some research and purchased:

M2TECH HIFACE TWO BNC usb/spdif converter

I will be running Audirvana Plus on my macbook air and connecting via 75 Ohm BNC from the M2TECH to the Bryston for files > 44.1.

I have read so many reviews of other units and the M2Tech... it seems for the price a fair deal...

BUT..with my Bryston BDA-1, am I short-changing it still? Do I seriously need to plunk down >$600 on a USB/SPDIF converter from the likes of Bel Canto or Bryston themselves? Or will this little device be more than adequate?

Looking for anyone who has gone down this or a similar road; no doubt quite a few audiophiles will have experienced this problem; as only in the last few years has it been fact all of the manufacturers with only the newest DACS know what XMOS(excellent USB chip) even is.

Best Regards,

Ron
