If you're like me, it might seem in retrospect that you spent longer laboring over Thucydides than it took Athens and Sparta to fight the dang thing.
Yes, it was time well-spent, but I never thought I'd look forward to reading another book on the subject—after all, it seemed like he'd said everything that needed to be said on the subject. Victor Davis Hanson's A War Like No Other just might be my next "big" read.
