Me, in the middle of another intense stare-down with my computer screen. (The screen always wins.)

Hey, today is my birthday. And it's the blog's birthday, too. Yeah!

I am another year older and another year deeper in debt. In debt, that is, to all of the good friends I've made, people who've offered their encouragement and support, thoughtful advice, excellent musical recommendations, and love.

This blog means a lot to me. It drives my search for new and exciting music, and it connects me to readers and music lovers all over the world. Which is a pretty amazing thing. Most of all, I'm happy to be able to share it with you. Thank you for hanging out here.

Okay, along those lines, you need to know that I have been in the middle of a complete cosmic fit over the Gary War album, Horribles Parade. It is baffling and disturbing. Perplexing. Kerfuffling, even. It leaves me in a quandary. Verklempt! Flummoxed! All distraught and excited, etcetera. Is it the greatest thing imaginable, or is it total trash? Is it the absolute lowest of all lo-fi, or is it actually the highest of the high? I have a lot to think about here, and I will be sharing my thoughts soon. Just as soon as they start making sense. In the meantime, here's the video for the album's opening track, "Highspeed Drift."

The video makes such good sense for the song, it's scary.

For real: If it turns you off after listening once, try listening 27 more times. Trust me.
