After Boo Boo’s, we made our way to Cheap">http://www.cheapthrills.biz/CT/">Cheap Thrills, another excellent San Luis Obispo location filled with books, movies, and music. Upstairs is where they keep the delicious vinyl. I’ve never seen a better selection of country music. I was so tempted to buy every Bobby Bare, Willie Nelson, Charlie Pride, Merle Haggard, and Tammy Wynette album they had.

Boo Boo Records had a nice selection of cheap cassettes. Here I am making out with them.

Sit, Monkey, Sit
After a bit of hiking, our friendly web monkey, Jon Iverson, took a seat on an old, wooden bench, which had apparently been made just for him.

Before going back to my cabin to get some work done (I swear!), I took this shot of the setting sun.

After exploring a couple of trails along Highway 1, Jon and I made it back to Lucia Lodge in time to watch the sun paint the land with watercolors.
Evidence That I Actually Got Some Work Done (Exhibit A)
Over the summer, Jon built a little, cozy shed in the valley behind his home. We took the trail down there one afternoon and got some work in.
Partington Cove
Though many of the highway’s trails were closed due to floods and mudslides, Jon and I found one that took us right down to the ocean. Partington">http://www.hikinginbigsur.com/hikes_partingtoncove.html">Partington Cove was furious, relentless, and beautiful. No subwoofer can recreate that massive sound made by the waves as they crashed into the land.
